Oppo isn’t really a build thread place, and this isn’t really a build thread, but these are pistons that I prepared (deburred and radiused) to take to a shop to get ceramic coated tomorrow, and I thought this was a neat cell phone picture. These are going into my CRX that is supposed to be my daily driver. That daily driver includes the turbo in the background. These pistons are the same size as the compressor housing inducer.

say thats nice that you get that entire range underneath that 5000rpm to putter around town. did you get cams to optimize the upper range,(turbo spooled) or crutch the lower non spooled range to keep it peppy?

its ALL dailyable, so long as you enjoy what youre driving.

That’s actually a good point about the off-boost lower RPM range. While I didn’t get a cam to optimize the upper range, I did do a head swap and got a head/cam with VTEC. More lift/duration where I need it.

Honestly I didn’t build the car around a certain goal. I just built it because I got a whole bunch of parts for cheap from a local Honda guru that was leaving the state. I’m talking heads/turbo/ECU/etc for $10-$20 (or free) each. Work with what you got.

2. But we scrapped it after finding more issues. Onto plan B which is called 416 LT1.

most definitely work with what you got, but you also sometimes just got to get what works.

sounds like it should make some good upper rpm power.

just make sure to decide what you need it to do for you. that way you can optimize the parts so they all work well in that rpm range together.( thats the hard part, honestly deciding where its getting used.) that way it doesnt let you down.

looks like a nice start.

Ultimately it just needs to make a 10 mile round trip commute to work five days a week; nothing taxing. It just has a big ass turbo because I have one available and why not. :P

Hopefully I can do some dyno tuning before the end of the month so we can see what kind of top end power I can extract out of this 92 HP engine. I did end up building this engine for ~400HP, but I don’t want to push it that far. I only got a clutch rated for ~300HP. Either way, 300HP in a 2,000 pound car should be fun while commuting to work.

its definitely nice having a short drive when you got that fresh build. especially on something high strung. that should keep you entertained for a while.
